Our name, “Dromoni”, comes from the Megrelian language spoken in Western Georgia and means “The Greatest Boat of All”.
It is a name rooted in the region’s maritime heritage as a tribute to the language, communities and history of the Black Sea coast. At the same time, it reflects our ambition and values: to build a company that leads, sets high standards, and moves the industry and the country forward while honoring local communities and our employees.
Dromoni is contributing to regional development by creating employment opportunities and supporting local communities.
More than 100 people are employed seasonally across our operations. Beyond job creation, we invest in local infrastructure, including the installation of public lighting in Kulevi, helping improve everyday living conditions in the areas where we operate
Respect for our Black Sea and its ecosystem is central to our operations.
Our facility is equipped with advanced water treatment systems, including additional filtration processes to ensure that no fish oil or harmful residues are released into wastewater.
Through our investments and participation in the Enterprise Georgia Program, Dromoni is actively contributing to the modernisation of Georgia’s maritime infrastructure.
Dromoni is the first company to operate its own fleet and to revive river navigation while operating the most advanced processing facility.
